LINER NOTES:

The album “Circle of Oddness” is centered around two concepts. One the one hand I wanted to form a circle between odd and even meters; biginning at 4/4 going through 5/8, 6/8, 7/8, 8/8 (4/4), 9/8 until arriving back again at 4/4. Through the combination of these odd and even meters on the other hand I wanted to achieve the resulting number pi= 3.14 by the greek mathematician, physicist and engineer Archimedes as a reference to my dad who always used to open his suitcase with this number combination and to whom this album is dedicated.

To navigate us through this album journey we are joined by this intangible number pi like a steady travel companion leading us through a mystical musical labyrinth of odd and even time signatures. The “Circle of Oddness” therefore represents a connection between these odd and even time signatures which - put together in a certain calculation - give us the number pi.
